GT SMART CommitteesGT SMART welcomes concerned individuals to serve on committees and work to develop an environment that encourages responsible decisions about alcohol consumption. The GT SMART Coalition is made up of Georgia Tech staff and students, community leaders, local government officials, representatives from the Atlanta Police Department, bar and restaurant owners, and substance abuse professionals. If you are interested in joining a committee please contact GT SMART.Steering CommitteeThis is the governing body of GT SMART. This committee is comprised of the chairs of other committees and other highly-involved individuals from campus and the community. The goal of this committee is to increase public awareness of the effects of high-risk drinking and design strategies to support cultural and community change.Neighborhood Relations CommitteeThis committee evaluates and develops strategies to address the issues related to high-risk drinking that pertain to Atlanta communities.Check out Tech's Off Campus Living Brochure (PDF) >> Communications CommitteeThe Communications Committee is charged with developing creative strategies to inform the Georgia Tech community about the achievements of GT SMART and to provide a realistic view of the relationship between Georgia Tech students and alcohol.Marketing CommitteeThe Marketing Committee develops and implements strategies to raise the public awareness of GT SMART initiatives, website and special events.Student Programming CommitteeThe Student Committee solicits ideas and develops and implements plans for ongoing programming on weekend evenings.Law and Policy CommitteeThe Law and Policy Committee examines all aspects of enforcement and policy related to alcohol and makes recommendations for change.
